ACCUPLACER's writing assessment
WritePlacer is a direct measure of student writing skills offered as part of the College Board's ACCUPLACER program. WritePlacer Plus Electronic allows you to administer the writing assessment as part of ACCUPLACER Online using any Internet- and Web browser–equipped computer. There is no new hardware to buy or software to load.
Examinees are asked to provide a writing sample in response to a specific prompt. This assessment measures writing skill at the level expected of an entering college student. The student's response is scored electronically using IntelliMetric™, an artificial intelligence–based writing-sample scoring tool. Scores are returned within seconds, allowing colleges to incorporate WritePlacer Plus scores into branching profiles and placement rules.
