For Students and Parents
Explore how the College Readiness Systems work with parents and students to change the lives of millions of children.

The College Readiness Systems help parents by:

  • Providing necessary information as they negotiate the college application process
  • Connecting them to College Board Web-based parent resources available in English and Spanish
  • Providing the tools to negotiate the financial aid process for their children
  • Creating opportunities to involve themselves in their child's education by visiting colleges and celebrating success
  • Providing the necessary tools to become advocates for their children

CRS helps students by:

  • Providing each student with ongoing support and services as they prepare college applications and financial aid forms via advisory, college counseling, and opportunities to visit colleges
  • Providing opportunities for underserved students to enroll in Pre-AP and AP classes
  • Providing a continuum of services designed to address the academic, social, and emotional development of all students as they transition from one grade to the next, and eventually from high school to college
  • Encouraging students to engage in rigorous and challenging courses during high school
  • Introducing students to relevant and meaningful options for postsecondary education
  • Providing students with community service and leadership sessions to support change and development of a college going culture
  • Having students take the PSAT/NMSQT® in grades 9, 10, and 11 to provide valuable diagnostic information to administrators, counselors, parents students, and teachers
