SpringBoard Components
Rigorous. Flexible. Effective.
SpringBoard combines rigorous course work with formative assessments and professional development in five synergistic components. Each course centers on classroom-tested instructional units that prepare students for AP® and college-level work.
The core components are:
- Consumable Student Editions: Provide culturally relevant, collaborative activities that promote critical thinking and problem-solving at each grade level.
Annotated Teacher Editions: Include annotated student pages and guide teachers in the use of SpringBoard's teaching and learning strategies such as Fishbowl, Jigsaw, RAFT, TP-CASTT, SOAPStone, Socratic Seminars, and more.- Professional Development: Includes administrators' workshops and toolkits, required summer institutes for first-year teachers, advanced training, and an online Professional Learning Community.
- Formative Assessments: Embedded in SpringBoard instruction. End of Unit Tests composed of high-quality test items, written specifically for SpringBoard by the College Board's Test Development Group, contain rationales that explain why answers are correct and incorrect.
SpringBoard® Online: Includes instructional resources and materials aligned to state standards, customizable online assessments and correlations to state standards. It's also the home to the program's online Professional Learning Community.
