Free Professional Development Opportunities Focused on Improving Student Performance

The Southern Regional Office (SRO) Webinar Series offers free, live and interactive webcasts that provide a global platform for learning and interacting. The series promotes equity and access for all students. Topics shared will allow you to learn, to grow and to connect your students to college and career success opportunities.

The registration deadline is two days before each webcast.

Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email with information for accessing the webcast. The session will be recorded and made available upon request. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please contact the Southern Regional Office at sromtgs@collegeboard.org.

Whether you choose to attend a live or recorded session, you’ll be able to learn what you want, when you want.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for attendees. In order to be eligible for a CEU certificate, you must login to the webinar for your email to be registered. At the conclusion of the webinar, you will receive a survey to be completed. If you would like a certificate, please note so in the survey and it will be emailed to you within 6-8 weeks after the webinar.

College Board Resources: Supporting the Work of the AP Teacher

In this session, participants will review and analyze college planning resources including online tools , ready-to-use college planning lessons, college advisory session guides, and useful websites to support your AP Program. Participants will develop a working list of best practices they can use to enhance the effectiveness of AP programs in their schools.

Supporting a College-Going Culture

This webinar is designed to meet the increasing demands that academically diverse students pose for teachers and administrators. Supporting a college-going culture, based on rigorous coursework and high expectations helps to prepare all students for college success. Participants will develop strategies to build and strengthen the infrastructure to support students and teachers.

Last Minute Tips on Preparing for the AP Exam

April 8, 2014
3:30 – 4:30 p.m. ET

This session addresses AP exam readiness. Participants will understand how to access online tools that will benefit students before and during AP exam administration. Participants will discuss strategies including the constructing and administering of practice exams as well as completing free response and multiple choice questions. Session participants will identify intervention strategies they will use to serve a notably diverse population in preparation for the AP exam.
