Curriculum Module: Encouraging Self-Expression
The essays in this curriculum module are written by teachers who have successfully found ways to encourage students to pursue ideation through personal voice. Each of the assignments relies heavily on individual discourse with students. Teachers use guiding questions that help students explore and grow as they become more comfortable with the development of personal ideation. Chapters include:
- Ideation for the Concentration: A Simple Approach
- 3-D Self-Portrait Teapot
- Memorializing a Personally Significant Event Through Text and Imagery
- The Line Goes for a Walk
- Narrative Self-Portrait
Note: Curriculum module materials reflect important topics in AP courses, and the materials are meant to provide teachers with resources and classroom ideas. However, curriculum module materials should not be taken as an indication that a particular topic will appear on the AP Exam.
