Pre-AP: Coaching & Sustaining Successful AP Vertical Teams
Coaches: learn how vertical teams advance academic success
AP Vertical Teams train individuals in work critical to making academic success attainable for all students. The teams lead district and College Board initiatives in vertical teaming-the process that combines district and state curricula and structures with those of the College Board. Vertical Teams work to coordinate the efforts of districts, states, and the College Board to meet mutual goals. They include access to challenging AP coursework for all students.
The one-day workshop enables participants to understand the importance of an AP Vertical Team's efforts to align its curriculum and plans with:
- State and national standards
- District and local school improvement plans
In this one-day workshop, participants train as AP Vertical Team coaches. Participants are expected to have attended the Setting the Cornerstones workshop. The coaching workshop will strengthen their leadership skills and establish relationships with College Board staff and other parties.
