Curriculum Module: Sfide globali: Diritti umani e Migrazioni e frontiere
The six themes of the AP Italian Language and Culture course allow teachers to present language concepts and skills within meaningful contexts. The lessons in this curriculum module focus on one of the themes: global challenges. Two lessons address the recommended contexts of human rights and migrations and borders. Chosen for their application to the modern, "real" world and for their use of historical and contemporary ideas, documents and language, these two exemplary teaching units offer students the opportunity to explore 21st-century issues through written, audio and visual resources. They cultivate Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational Communicative skills and encourage open-ended responses on the parts of both teachers and students.
