AP Score Reporting Services for Higher Education Institutions

Students designate one college to receive their AP score report at the time of the exam. Designated colleges automatically receive paper reports in July. Colleges can also receive these data in the following formats by completing the College AP Score Reporting Services Order Form, sent to each college in the spring:

  • Internet Delivery of Scores
  • Score reports on CD and follow-up service

Colleges that do not receive this form or that wish to make a modification to their current delivery model should contact AP Services directly.

Internet Delivery of Scores

Colleges and universities may choose to participate in Internet Delivery of Scores. These data are available free of charge via the Web in a nondelimited flat-file format (ASCII). Institutions will need to purchase the required software (approximately $200—prices subject to change). Internet Delivery of Scores uses an anonymous server. After scores are processed, data will be put on the server, which will trigger an email message informing schools that data are available for download. The email contains an Internet address that can then be accessed to collect, save, and process the data. For more information about this service, contact the Code Control Department:

To receive scores electronically for initial July 2015 reporting, colleges must elect to participate no later than May 15, 2015. Requests received after May 15 will be accommodated with follow-up score reporting.

Score reports on CD and follow-up service

The same data on the AP score reports are available on CD (ASCII format). The fee is $50 and the data are sent to institutions in mid-July. Users are responsible for formatting the data files; step-by-step instructions for data formatting are available on this website.

Colleges can also receive transcript reports produced after July, once a month for a year, by ordering the follow-up service. The fee for this service is $110.
