Helping Students Prepare

Getting your students ready for a CLEP exam

CLEP examinations test knowledge that students have acquired outside the college classroom. Candidates may have learned the material on a CLEP exam through:

  • Independent studies
  • An advanced high school course
  • On-the-job training
  • Cultural pursuits

However, most students find that some type of test preparation is helpful. CLEP candidates typically study on their own for the examinations. Some students find that a quick review of the material provides sufficient preparation; others may need to develop a full study plan.

We recommend that students consult a textbook in the comparable course at their college or university. We also offer CLEP preparation resources for sale through our online store. Learn more about our study recommendations.
