Free Official SAT Practice Test
This information refers to the current SAT and is in effect through the January 2016 test date. Get information about the redesigned SAT, which starts March 2016.
Encourage students to take an official SAT practice test
Help your students prepare for test day by encouraging them to set aside time to take an official SAT practice test. They'll gain confidence by practicing with the same types of questions they'll see on test day, and they'll become familiar with the test format and pacing.
In the online version, students must sign in with their online College Board account to access the test. They are then asked to print the test and take it on paper in order to mimic the test day experience. Once they have completed the test, students can enter their answers online to receive a personalized score report and answer explanations.
Whether students have taken the practice test in the printed version of the test in Getting Ready for the SAT or in the online version, they should take time to review the answer explanations provided online for questions they missed.
An answer explanation is provided for every test question in the online Official SAT Practice Test area. Students can read a rationale for each correct answer choice in addition to an explanation of why each other answer choice was incorrect.
Visit the online area and sign in with a student account (you can create one for free) to access these answer explanations.
Efforts to improve
Encourage your students to review their performance by question type (see the "Item Type" report in the online score report). Understanding their performance at this level can help them focus further study.
